Colleen Messmer, BSN, RN, CPON

From the day I started working here, Colleen has been the type of nurse that I strive to be. She comes to work every day with a positive attitude and the readiness to help whoever is in need. Colleen is the Assistant Nurse Manager for the Cancer Center for Kids. On top of the hundreds of responsibilities she has to do everyday on the managerial side of her job, she is always there to lend a helping hand at the bedside. She is our go-to for clinical and treatment questions and our Mediport accessing expert. Colleen is always two steps ahead and already knows what our doctors are thinking. She helps our clinic run beyond smoothly on a daily basis. I am honored to work with a nurse who after 30 plus years, has more passion and love for this field than most people would even dream of having for their career. We are lucky to have her as part of our team and I am truly grateful for her. I hope that as I gain more experience in this field, I can be even half the nurse that Colleen is.
