Nurse Colleen Young is an RN working with the HUD VASH (homeless program) at Ft. McPherson. Colleen came into the program eager to learn and to use her skills to help homeless Veterans. Colleen Young is truly a compassionate hardworking nurse who did not give up on the most difficult Veteran. This lady was a Veteran whom everyone else had deemed too difficult to have on their caseload; however, Colleen saw a woman who was in pain and crying out for help. The Veteran had given up on the VA, but through Colleen, she has learned to trust the VA again.
