His words gave me the confidence to fight on. He even custom-made me a barbell and a gripping ball out of towels to help me build up my strength.
First, when I woke up in the ICU after my heart and kidney transplant, I felt like I was a mummy. I couldn’t move at all, I was confused and stressed, I had different nurses from day to day and they were all very nice. But then Collin came in and I knew that there was something different. With Collin, we got to know each other right away.

When I tried to do PT, I could barely move. In a state of depression, I asked Collin, “Will I ever get back to normal?” His words gave me the confidence to fight on. He even custom-made me a barbell and a gripping ball out of towels to help me build up my strength.

My wife was with me every day, and when she told him that she was bummed because they didn’t have ramen noodles in the cafeteria, he brought her some from his home. When my daughter met him, she liked him so much she made cupcakes for him and the staff, and my other daughter made him a key lime pie. Just to write these words for Collin brings tears to my eyes because of how much he did and how much he means to me.
