Collins is an exemplary 7SA nurse. She is frequently recognized for paying attention to the little things that mean so much. Tidying a room, opening blinds, or just offering to sit and talk with a patient, even after her shift is over, mean so much to the patients and families she cares for. If she overhears a patient talking about missing reading the paper in the morning, you can bet that in the next day or two, a paper will show up.
Collins is a strong advocate for her patients and tries hard to provide them the care they need and deserve. She communicates well with other team members and helps them understand what is important to that patient. She makes strong connections with her patients and their families and is frequently recognized in patient feedback.
Collins also does an excellent job in precepting new staff. Her teaching style creates a calm, safe and supportive environment which encourages RNs to ask questions and to think critically. She is driven, detail-oriented and incredibly kind. Whether it's an impromptu pizza party or a kind word as she walks by, Collins always has positive energy to share. These attributes make her an amazing RN and a joy to work with.
Collins is flexible and willing to adjust her assignment as the needs of the floor dictate. Her co-workers have seen her spread gentle kindness to all. She truly takes the time to listen and understand those she works with and cares for.
One co-worker wrote, "I love the way Collins does her job. She makes my heart dance and I am lucky to work with her!"
