We had a pregnant diabetic patient who speaks only Arabic. We had been using the Cyracom interpreter and that seemed to be working. Connie noticed that the patient had been logging her blood sugar results on the wrong spot and sometimes she did not have any results logged. Connie had a feeling that the patient did not really know what to do so she went to "Google Translate" and made a new log sheet with Arabic words and instructions. The patient also told her that she has not taken the diabetic medicine she was prescribed. Connie walked her down to the pharmacy and found out via Cyracom interpreter she did not know how or where to pick up her medicine. Connie helped her go through the process and was able to pick up and take her medicine.
Connie is a nurse who not only gives excellent nursing care but has a genuine and extraordinary compassion for people.
