I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award than Connie Lowe. Connie is a dedicated nurse through and through. She works hard. She is willing to float to any department that's in need of help. She picks up shifts. She mainly works OB/Peds but is known in all departments such as Med-Surg, ER, and Outpatient. It is very rare to ever hear a negative comment out of her mouth. However, the main reason for this nomination is her most recent selfless act. Yesterday, after working a 12-hour shift that day, Connie had gone home for the evening. Not long after leaving, a mom was presented to OB in full-blown labor with twins of unknown gestational age. Connie was one of the nurses called and asked to come back to help because the House Supervisor knew that all hands on deck were 100% necessary due to only two labor nurses being on the floor. Without hesitation, Connie showed back up to work ready to go. Connie assisted in all aspects of care regarding the mom and the twin babies until the NICU team arrived. Connie did not leave the hospital until 6:30 the next morning. Connie was here to help for almost 24 hours. We could not have made it through the night without Connie and all the other staff that jumped in to help. This is only a small example of how great Connie is. There are many more stories of Connie changing her plans and schedule to help her co-workers and other departments.
