Connie exemplifies the values of Baptist Health through respect, excellence, and compassion for her patients in many ways. Connie goes well beyond what is expected of her to make sure that each patient's needs are met. While patients don't always know that she is showing respect, excellence, and compassion she does so in her own extraordinary way.

Almost daily, Connie calls the unit to check on her coworkers. She asks how they are doing and how their day is going, and how's staffing. It is not unusual for Connie to rearrange her schedule to make sure the unit is adequately staffed. She goes above and beyond by coming in to help the staff at a moment's notice in periods of high census and patient emergencies. For example, this past week it was crazy. Patients kept coming in the door and we had no nurse to care for them. I called Connie, and she dropped what she was doing and came in and cared for a very sick 31-week pregnant patient that ended up requiring transfer. Not only did she give excellent care to this patient, but she also allowed other nurses to give their best care to their patients. While many of the nurses on the unit come in to help out and we all work as a team, we all know that Connie is our "go-to person" to enable us to provide the excellent care our patients deserve.
