While in clinical this semester, we work doing a clinical experience in the infusion center. This particular morning, one of the UAPs ran into the infusion center to state that a patient had coded in the lobby. While nurses and staff were setting up the code cart and clearing the lobby, Connor stepped up and was one of several people who started doing chest compressions for this patient until the code team could get to the patient. He was instrumental in getting a pulse back for this patient. Although the family and healthcare providers decided not to take the patient to the cath lab once all the labs and EKG were back, his assistance in this situation gave the patient's family time to come to the hospital to say goodbye to him in a controlled environment. His ability to jump in and help in a crisis situation so others could get IV access and medications ready for administration.
