Conor Fitzgibbons, RN

Integrity: Conor was my son’s post-op RN on 5. My son had a panic vs. pain attack. Conor took the time to fully evaluate the situation while remaining calm, explaining every procedure in a way he would understand, reassured the Veteran, took the appropriate interventions, and notified the Provider. Conor got his pain and anxiety needs met while reassuring the Veteran he was safe, and everything was under control. From the first interaction between Conor, the Veteran, and the Veteran's family, it was 100% professional and respectful. He identified himself after knocking and asked for permission prior to entering, which was very much appreciated due to the sensitive nature of his procedure. He explained his plan of care to my son in terms he understood. He let us know when he would return and to not hesitate to reach out to him if anything is needed. He ensured the Veteran's needs were met mentally, physically, and emotionally. Conor is an excellent example of what a VA Nurse should be. He showed the ICARE model and exceeded the Lexington VA mission.
