March 2019 Honoree
conor myers, RN
I came to the ER and was hospitalized. I was dehydrated and they found a blood clot in my lung and adrenal insufficiency. They worked with Hillman Cancer Center as I'm a cancer patient and my meds cause adrenal insufficiency. I was transferred to the Cardiovascular ICU because of my blood clot. Conor Myers, RN was my nurse the next day and I was very stressed and could not sleep. He helped me understand all that was happening as I had many tests. He worked with the hospitalist. He looked information up on adrenal insufficiency and explained things in a way so easy to understand and spent time easing my stress. He never made me feel I monopolized his time with all my questions. He seemed genuinely concerned with not only my health but my well-being. He was a breath of fresh air at what seemed to me such a difficult and stressful time. He was not my nurse the following day but stopped in to see if I was OK, to assure me I was in good hands with the nurse assigned to me that day. Conor is a DAISY Nurse for his skillful techniques, his compassion, concern, and willingness to go above and beyond his normal nursing duties.
Thank you, Conor, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
