December 2023 Honoree
Constance Shannon, RN
Connie was an amazing nurse not only to me but also to the other patients; the way she spoke to them, I was like, "Wow- now that's a loving, caring nurse." One patient had mental issues, and the way Connie explained things to him and the way she listened to him. She sat with me and talked to me, held my hand after my second surgery. Her son was even in the hospital, and she still was caring and patient. She took care of her patients like nothing was going on in her personal life. She knew I was lonely; it's hard to be in a hospital for nine days. She hugged me and talked about life. Her compassion for her patients is amazing. We need more nurses like her. Always smiling. I'm going to miss her. Thank you, Connie, for taking care of me. I wasn't just a patient. I was someone.
Thank you, Constance, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
