May 2015 Honoree
corey grindo, RN
I just wanted to commend Corey Grindo, RN from PCU. Last Sunday, Corey was discharging a patient at the front door. As soon as the patient got into the car, he cardiac arrested. Corey jumped in the car with him and did CPR while telling the son to drive around to the ER entrance. At the ER, they got the patient inside on a stretcher and they continued CPR. The patient survived and was taken to ICU, and later to Duke Hospital. Corey's quick actions in this case probably saved this guys life. Great job Corey and kudos to the ER as well!
Thank you, Corey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
