Cori Foley consistently goes above and beyond for not only the patients but also her fellow staff. One day in August, around shift change, Cori was answering a call light in a room that had their door shut. When she answered the door she immediately noticed the smoke coming from the vents over the patient's bed. The patients were immediately taken to safety and the fire call was activated. She quickly took charge of the situation to assure the patients were well taken care of and were informed, as to not be more anxious. Shortly after the call, it was noticed that another room also had smoke coming out of the vents. She continued to stay calm and move the patients as needed and directed by the fire crew. All staff went above and beyond with caring for the patients, but Cori continued to stay well past her shift to ensure that the unit was under control. She then came in the following morning early before her shift as she knew the charge nurse from the previous night would appreciate her assistance. Cori is never one to talk about what she has done, but amongst her colleagues, it is well known that she is ever deserving of recognition, not only for this story but for all the care she demonstrates.
