Cortez establishes a rapport with each and every patient he encounters. They all know him by name, and he continues to receive commendations from patients and family members for his exceptional care and the attention he provides. Patients remember him on return visits and comment on his exceptional care. They know him by name, which shows the personal care he provides patients and families. He constantly rounds on his patients and is in the room caring for their needs. You will rarely see him sitting idly at the desk. When Cortez hears a teammate needs help, he is quick to respond, no matter what the task. He cleans rooms when he sees a dirt room in order to expedite flow in the department without being asked. If he sees a need, he is there no matter what the task. No task is too big or small for him. His main concern is the care of our patients. He is very humble when someone comments on his kind and exceptional care. Cortez is an outstanding nurse and is a huge asset to Tanner. His demeanor is quiet, and his focus is on providing the best care he can each day, not only for his patients but for all of our patients and his co-workers. He shies away from recognition and praise. He gives 100% to everything he does, that is Cortez! I cannot say enough about how exceptional and valued he is to our Tanner system and especially our department. He strives to be his best every day and looks for nothing in return except self-satisfaction, and I can see self-pride in his work ethic. He is truly a role model for everyone in our department and represents the hospital with care and a true love for his profession.
