My family would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Nurse Cortney Meeks at Tampa General Hospital for her kindness and concern for my mom while she was there.
My mom was diagnosed with Congested Heart Failure (CHF) and fell ill so suddenly. Because she was so active prior to CHF, it came as a huge shock to all of us. It sure was a tough time, but it put our mind at rest knowing that she was in such capable and professional hands. Although Cortney was providing care for a total of five patients, she always took the time needed with us, provided an empathetic ear, got answers to our questions, and helped keep everything going smoothly when things got a little complicated.
After my mom completed the cardiac catheterization, she was transferred back to her room from the recovery room and instructed to lie flat on her back for a few hours. Duration of that time, Cortney came and checked on her puncture site numerous times. About an hour passes, Cortney discovered a lump under the skin, and she started applying firm pressure to the insertion site for 20 minutes without stopping.
Cortney is filled with compassion and she played a vital role in my mom's healing process. We thank her for her kindness, dedication and healing touch.
