Cory Farias, RN

Cory has a mother-type nurturing added to her skills. I have seen her jump up and attend to my child the way a mother would for her own child. She demonstrates knowledge and she is extremely wise. I have seen her multi-task and assist nurses as they request her assistance with knowledge of medical concerns with their patients. She knows how to ease your worry and fear in defining medical issues or situations. Her interaction with me has never changed, so if she was ever having a bad day any of the times that she has taken care of my son, I would have never known. She takes the time to know what her patient’s needs are so that there are no setbacks on the count of something she could have prevented.

For example, she knows my child is a feisty one and his positioning plays a major part in his vitals. I have seen her many times interact with patients even though the baby has no clue what she is saying. A nurse could be one of your most skillful nurses, but if the nurse is lacking nurturing, compassion for their patient and parents during the duration of the experience this award should not be given to that individual. I know I am not the only parent that thinks this of her, but she is an awesome outstanding nurse!
