October 2024 Honoree
Cory Jackson, BSN, RN
My husband underwent an extensive Laminectomy and foraminectomy at C2-T1 recently. What that basically means is neck surgery with lots of staples, screws, metal, pain, and recovery. We were admitted after surgery to the NCCU unit until discharge 4 days later. We were extremely lucky and blessed to have the same nightshift nurse every night. Cory walked into the room each night with such a great spirit and contagious smile. He was the epitome of Methodist Care commitments. His servant's heart shined through each night as he cared for my husband. He anticipated my husband’s needs and stayed on top of his pain control, which was priceless. My husband looked forward to the night shift as he and Cory really connected. As a nurse myself, I feel that I recognize amazing care when I see it. I truly believe Cory's care made a positive impact on my husband’s recovery – not only physically but emotionally and spiritually.
Thank you, Cory, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
