A child was hit by a car and brought to the ER with broken bones, lacerations, etc. The child's father was a basket case, sobbing uncontrollably. Cory comforted the dad assuring him that we would take good care of his baby. He offered him something to drink, a towel for his face and a place to sit. When the little girl was taken to CT the dad fell apart again. Cory was comforting him and even asked if he would like to walk to CT with the girl. The dad declined his offer, hugged Cory and continued to cry on his shoulder. Cory is an excellent example of what a nurse should be.
