Cory served as my daytime nurse for three consecutive days as I recovered from aortic valve replacement surgery. He was on his feet the entire time, going from room to room ensuring all his patients' needs were met (even the difficult ones). Cory did it all; changing dressings, fixing IVs, removing drain tubes and catheters, and even inserting the dreaded suppository. To distract from surgical pains, Cory would distract me through conversation. When my family came to visit, he knew their names and interests. Cory always made sure his patients were comfortable at shift change, even if that meant staying late. My experience at McLaren Northern Michigan couldn't have been better. Thank you, Cory and McLaren, for giving me life again.
