Courtnee’s kindness, compassion, and proactive care ended up making all the difference in me feeling like I was improving and would be able to go home soon.
I was admitted with a bowel blockage due to Crohn’s disease and positional vertigo. I was miserable, dizzy, and lethargic. Courtnee noticed that a medication was available to me as needed but I hadn’t received it for almost 24 hours. She started giving it to me every 8 hours and also contacted my doctor for authorization to start receiving ice chips and, eventually water and Jell-O. These small things turned into me feeling increasingly better throughout the day. When I was admitted – my vertigo was severe, and I was feeling very distraught and upset. Courtnee’s kindness, compassion, and proactive care ended up making all the difference in me feeling like I was improving and would be able to go home soon. One thousand times, “Thank you!”

She tried to find me a dryer for my thick hair, always popping in quickly to check on me. I rarely had to press the nurse button. She was super gentle with everything she needed to do. Kind, soft voice, explained if I was confused. She asked if my boyfriend needed anything and got him a pop a few times. He and I both nominate Courtnee for the DAISY Award.
