Courtney is the ideal nurse you would want to have as a patient or coworker. She has gone above and beyond for our Veterans. There are tons of examples, from helping coworkers with patients that are not hers, helping with personal issues, and staying on the phone for hours trying to get someone from an outside hospital to send records so they could better treat a patient. I am the Mental Health nurse here, and she has made sure during crises or situations with suicidal patients that, I have the support needed and worked intricately while I was addressing the suicidal patient. She ended up getting a psychiatrist on the phone and expedited the care the actively suicidal patient received, all while updating me and making sure I felt supported. She never makes you feel like you are a burden when asking for help and is usually the first one to jump in to help. I could not speak more highly of Courtney. She is the person I would like to be as a nurse. She is what I would imagine an ideal nurse to be if I wanted treatment for myself or my family.
