Courtney is an outstanding employee. She helps our unit by taking on such roles as preceptor for new hires, Core Charge, and Chair-Elect for our units Shared Governance Committee. Courtney goes above and beyond when it comes to patient care. Daily she can be heard going over the whiteboard with her patients and their families, so they are all up to date on the plan of care and make sure all of their questions have been answered. Not too long ago our unit struggled with turn-over on the night shift, Courtney being a dayshift nurse volunteered to work on nights for a few months to help with morale, orient, and be a resource for all the new hires on nights. I also remember a time when two of her patients were dying and she took it upon herself to trade her shifts with her co-workers so that she could be here with both families to help them through the process and be a familiar face. I cannot thank Courtney enough for all of her hard work and dedication.
