Courtney came into our lives and suddenly we had a light in the dark and a hand holding ours, guiding us through the storms that followed.

Courtney came into our room and from then on, we just know that things were going to be ok, even if we didn't know how. Up until then, everything had seemed like one giant whirlwind from the moment my dad's health started declining, with our entire family caught inside of it and none of us able to do anything at all to stop it. Courtney came into our lives and suddenly, even while things weren't ok, we had a light in the dark and a hand holding ours, guiding us through the storms that followed. Courtney was quick to catch the small things with my dad that even we didn't notice, like when his voice changed and he was more tired than normal and she advocated for us to his doctor to make sure that we were always taking the correct next steps.

I know Courtney was always busy but she always made us feel like we were her only patients and listened to and addressed every concern we had. She was knowledgeable about every aspect of his care, but also explained things so we could understand them. We got to hear her take the time to teach her aides things about nursing and healthcare in the most kind and compassionate ways, and you could really tell that they respected her as well. She was never afraid to roll up her sleeves and help them with a bed change, or to get ice, or whatever they needed; she was kind to everyone, and you really just felt like she truly cares when she's there. We want to celebrate her because we 1,000% believe that this is her God-given purpose in life and believe she should be recognized for the incredible work she does. Courtney truly changes people's lives for the better with the way she works.
