She is a bright light, which is what you need in such a dark time.
After giving birth to twin boys at 25 weeks, and feeling scared and lost in the NICU, Courtney made it a point to connect with my husband and me. She cared for both of my boys for most of their time in the NICU before my son was transferred out to CHOP.  She spent many 12-hour shifts entertaining us, answering thousands of questions with ease, making us feel welcome, making us laugh when we needed it, and being a shoulder to cry on.  She is a bright light, which is what you need in such a dark time.  NICU life is not for the weak and she made it feel so much better.  Courtney also was there when one of my twins passed away.  She reached out and offered grief counseling, set us up with Sweet Grace Ministries, and truly grieved the loss of our son with us.  She made us feel like his life was important, no matter how old he was.  We couldn't have asked for a better nurse and we miss her tremendously.  All the staff in the NICU became family.
