I had a total knee replacement and a nerve block and my pump did not work. I was in unbearable, excruciating pain. Courtney came on shift with a positive attitude and a promise to do whatever it took to help. Courtney did not hesitate to page the doctor (at night) each time we tried something new that didn't quite cut it. Courtney never acted as though I was bothering her, even though it took most of her shift to control my pain, she listened to my ideas and concerns and told them to the doctor. She made me feel heard and important. Courtney never lost her positive attitude and reassured me that we would not stop until the pain was tolerable. I had the worst pain of my life for hours on end and if Courtney had not been my advocate I think it would have continued for much longer. She was a blessing.
