Courtney has ultimately created such a good rapport with her patients that has encouraged them to seek further medical treatment and as a result, improved their quality of life.
I have known Courtney for nearly 3 years now and her commitment and dedication to her job and her patients are outstanding. She continuously goes above and beyond to ensure the best outcome for her patients. The list of words to describe her are endless but without doubt, she is compassionate, caring, committed, hard-working, personable, supportive, etc to name just a few.

As a Hepatology Clinical Specialist Nurse Courtney supports patients who require ongoing specialist monitoring and treatment of hepatolological conditions. Her relationship with patients is heart-warming and she is exemplary in developing and maintaining communication with her patients. Understandably the patients that Courtney deals with can be challenging but she strives in providing an empathetic approach and understanding of each individual's situation and will work tirelessly working with the patient/family/carers to get the best outcome possible. Courtney will always support equality and values diversity. As part of her role, she will plan, develop and implement approaches to promote health and well-being and prevent adverse effects on health and wellbeing. She will signpost and support patients in their understanding of their condition through patient education and health promotion.

Courtney’s commitment cannot be overlooked. She is here for the patients and will always put them first. Often stretching herself in several different directions she will help everyone in any way she possibly can. I know that Courtney’s patients really do appreciate her as they know she will do all that she can to help them and over time Courtney has ultimately created such a good rapport with her patients that has encouraged them to seek further medical treatment and as a result, improved their quality of life.

Courtney’s role is not ‘easy’ and can be both emotionally and mentally draining. She will fight for everyone and part of my reason for this nomination is that I would like to ‘fight’ for her. Just for Courtney to receive some form of recognition and realise how much I (and I know others – patients and colleagues alike) appreciate her is my main hope from this nomination.
