It has been a privilege working with Courtney Dileva for 16 + years, she is a rock-solid bedside nurse with superb skills and a very able charge nurse.
She is patient with all staff, seemingly never getting ruffled with the hectic pace of our unit. She is fair, honest, and quick on her feet, even-tempered with all of our ups and downs in our unit. This is not something easily accomplished on some days!
She is just as comfortable at the bedside as she is behind the desk, handling problems, add-ons, and other concerns. I see Courtney as the absolute epitome of a DAISY Nurse, so well rounded, well-seasoned and so strong in her skills. I think nursing chooses us, we don't choose nursing, and nursing has definitely chosen this nurse as one of its most special! You are an honor to the nursing profession.
She goes above and beyond the call of duty every day she works, Courtney was caring for a newly diagnosed patient who just had surgery and was connected to multiple IV lines, foley cath, epidural catheter, and the mother was afraid of moving or touching the patient. Courtney explained the pain medication and reinforced her actions leaving the family at ease during this difficult time. She helped the mother in providing complete hygiene and made the patient feel comfortable as the mother was more confident in caring for her child. Thank you, Courtney, for not losing your touch of nursing for connecting with the patient, listening to their needs, and fulfilling tasks, no matter how simple they are.
