Courtney Downing, BSN, RN

Courtney was my nurse when I had my gallbladder removed. My doctor wanted to send me home even though I was in excruciating pain. Courtney advocated for me and told my doctor and my surgeon that something was not right and more tests needed to be done. The doctor declined and said I would be fine, but she focused on what she knew was required. Finally, the doctor and surgeon conducted the test, and we discovered I had a blockage in my liver caused by a gallstone. I’m grateful to have had Courtney as my nurse; she stood up for me, remained positive, and secured the tests I needed. She was dedicated to being the best she could be for me, and I will never forget her for that!
