Courtney Gunther, RN
A patient was noted for intermittent episodes of bradycardia with quick return to a second-degree heart block in the 80’s. Due to Courtney’s diligence and close monitoring, the patient was noted for sustained Bradycardia with associate diaphoresis and moderate substernal chest pain. A V Nodal blocking agents were held on admission. Courtney ordered a STAT EKG and notified the on-call provider. EKG noted Mobitz II block at HR 32. The patient was transported, and a consult was placed to EP Cardiology for further evaluation. This patient will undergo permanent pacemaker placement. Courtney’s insight and decisive action resulted in life-saving measures. I am proud to work at her side.
