Courtney is an extremely compassionate nurse who took incredible care of my mother-in-law when she was in the hospital. She ensured that her pain was being adequately treated and truly cared for her every need. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse and my mother-in-law died suddenly and unexpectedly. She gave everything she had to try and save my mother-in-law. After my mother-in-law passed away, she spent a great amount of time with my father-in-law while he waited for his kids to arrive to the hospital. She cried with my father-in-law and held his hand through the hardest moment in his life. Through this small act of kindness, you can tell that she is an incredible person and treats all of her patients (and their families) with the greatest care and love. She spent so much time with my father-in-law when he was lost and in complete shock and for that, all of us kids are incredibly grateful. On top of it all, she then came to my mother-in-law's visitation to say her condolences to us again. This takes great strength and means the world to my father-in-law and our family. God knew that we needed her as our nurse that day. OSF is very lucky to have an amazing nurse like her who demonstrates empathy, compassion, and strength while taking care of her patients every day.
