He was absolutely over the moon with how much effort and kindness Courtney showed him and, in extension, to his wife as well.
Courtney consistently goes above and beyond for patients and her fellow co-workers. I have seen her give extraordinary care via telephone and in person. She is not afraid to jump in if the medical assistants or providers need her for literally anything. She will often stay late and work up until the very last minute to make sure patients' needs are met. She thinks outside of the box every single day to make sure every resource available for our patients is utilized. She always finds a solution to any problem, small or large. I've never met such a humble person/nurse in my life. She truly does not recognize how wonderful she is.
Every interaction she brings empathy and compassion to the table. She makes such an incredible impact in our daily lives and within our community, and she has dedicated many years to PMC. We would all be very lost without her on our team. For a specific example, we recently had a patient come in for a dressing change on an infected toe. This patient spoke about how hard it is to get away for appointments and errands as his wife is home with Alzheimer's. He is the main caretaker without any other resources. She listened intently as this man cried and told us how much of a burden this can feel like. Courtney made sure that he left here, knowing that she would do everything possible to get him some sort of help, not only for himself but for his wife as well. She spoke to this patient's provider about possible therapy as an outlet for him and for VNA to help with his wife. The patient left here so grateful and full of hope.
