Courtney always goes above and beyond for her patients and team members. During a recent code, with emotions running high, and everyone having their own role to play, and construction on the unit making it hard to get to equipment, Courtney was thinking ahead of the game. When the team called out for IV pumps, channels, and syringe pumps, Courtney had thought ahead and had them ready to go into the room. Thanks, Courtney, for thinking ahead and saving time to help this patient. You are appreciated.

Courtney is the kind of nurse I hope to be one day. Her patients' and families' comfort is a priority for her as soon as she steps through the unit doors. She is rarely seen outside her patient rooms because she spends her free time doing all the little things that show she genuinely cares. She has been known to spend time painting a patient's fingernails, doing their hair, and making sure they get the least wrinkly sheets. She walks with her patients in the halls, and the conversations I hear them having are so heartwarming to listen to. She does the same for students she teaches and co-workers asking for help. She once stayed four hours past her shift to comfort a grieving mother, something I know that mom will never forget. She is a wonderful person. The love in her heart, her genuine curiosity in all of her conversations, and the compassion she shows for each of her patients are what it means to be a DAISY Nurse.
