My dad had been in MICU for 5 days. He had “coded” three times in the last six days and was revived. They could not figure out what was wrong. On the sixth day of his stay, he had a catheterization (he is having it now as I am writing this). This was also the second time he had Courtney. Earlier this morning, she came and sat by his side (he was in the recliner) and she held his hand and spoke to him about his care what he was thinking. She looked into his eyes and genuinely listened. She spent about thirty minutes calming him down and reassuring him. It was heartwarming. Her knowledge about his condition and the way she doted over him and his needs, made him feel less anxious. I have many other examples of her extraordinary care of my dad and us!
