Courtney Plaisted is one of the best nurses you could ask for to take care of your kid. She is positive and compassionate even in the toughest of situations. During one particular shift, Courtney was floated to a unit where she had a particularly difficult assignment. To make matters worse, one of her patients suddenly became very sick. With many years of experience under her belt, Courtney was able to identify a problem right away and advocated for her patient. Ultimately, it took following the chain of command to make sure her patient got the help that they needed. It was finally decided that the patient required a higher level of care and Courtney made sure the patient got transferred to PICU. Not only is Courtney excellent with her patients but she is a staunch supporter of her teammates. She never complains about getting floated at the last minute and picks up shifts to help pediatric and neonatal teams throughout the system. With her years of experience, her input and knowledge are invaluable to our team.
