Courtney and her husband went through their closet and put together a pile of clothes that the patient could go through to decide what the patient wanted to wear home.
Courtney had an older patient who fell out of bed at home in the middle of the night. The patient called 911 and when they got to the house, they just loaded the patient into the ambulance, wearing only their underwear. The patient was unable to put on any clothes and when the EMTs left, they locked up the house. When Courtney had the patient, the doctor told the patient that she would be discharging the patient in the morning. The patient became very upset and concerned due to not having transportation or clothing. The patient was alone and had no friends or family. Courtney made sure to start arranging transport for the patient in the morning. When she went home, she decided to find the patient some clothes. She and her husband went through their closet and put together a pile of clothes that the patient could go through to decide what the patient wanted to wear home. The patient was able to go home this morning in something more warm, and comfortable than scrubs or a gown. The patient was very gracious of Courtney's generosity. This is true humanity at work for our community! She is an amazing and caring nurse, who always goes above and beyond for her patients. She cares deeply for each of her patients and truly cares about them as a person. Courtney is a nurse that everyone can look up to and strive to be like!
