I would like to express my deepest heartfelt 'thanks' for the kindness, love, and care that my friend received here at UNC hospital.
I appreciate all the staff's help with the care of my friend's four day stay which at the beginning was supposed to be an outpatient stay. Though her hospital stay was longer than expected, I was really impressed with one particular nurse who won my heart as well as my friend who was in need of special care.
Her name is Nurse Courtney and what an outstanding nurse she was! She deserves to be recognized and I am so excited to share these few words of appreciation.
Courtney was so encouraging, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and one of the most impressive and noticed traits that stood out about her was that she wore a 'big smile' and she was very knowledgeable about what was going on with my friend's health concerns.
In fact, when the time came for her to change shift at the end of her day, she reviewed everything very thoroughly to the next nurse who would be taking care of my friend's healthcare. This was so impressive to me as well as to my friend who was aware of her own healthcare needs. Courtney was very detailed in sharing her report about my friend's data. This certainly was her 'special' way shown and we (my friend and me) felt her kindness was real because each time she was administering to us, her heart was seen by the way she explained things to us and answered questions. She also had a sense of humor which added to her personality.
