I have suffered from hyperemesis throughout my pregnancy which has resulted in several stays at the hospital. I am currently 34 weeks and of all the amazing nurses I have met, Courtney stands out among the rest. I have had little to no control throughout this pregnancy, have hardly slept, and throw up almost constantly. Courtney went above and beyond to give me back little bits of control, to make me feel heard, and to support me. She always referred to me and my baby girl by our names (not just baby girl), she would ask about my other kiddos and bring them up often, so I didn't miss home quite so much.

Courtney found common ground to talk to me about and when she realized we both loved reading and I wasn't able to read due to being too dizzy, she offered to help me with an audible account so I could listen to books instead (and also gave me some great recommendations). This has been the hardest 8 months of my life; Courtney was a light throughout that darkness. She made me feel more like myself again. I was so blessed to be cared for by Courtney and cannot imagine anyone more deserving of recognition.
