Courtney cared for my husband, L, during his stay at Banner Thunderbird. Courtney has been L's RN for two days. Not only does Courtney possess the personality traits of a wonderful health care provider, but she is also very bright and can give a patient and family the who, what, when, where, why, and how of what is going on with regard to the patient care.
Courtney is warm, open, and friendly. For being such a young woman, she has certainly honed her craft as an RN and presents well beyond her years. Her wisdom is astounding.
Having come from a tenured position in Higher Education, I recognize the clarity and thoroughness of her explanations. I told her that she should consider teaching at some point in her life. Just like bedside manner cannot be taught, neither can "teaching" be taught. One can know a subject thoroughly, in fact, one can be an expert. But at the same time, that expert cannot teach that subject to another person.
