Craig Rankin, BSN, RN

I would like to recognize Craig for the amazing care he gave me when I came into the emergency room. As an elderly blind man, I was in a lot of pain from severe constipation. On top of that, dealing with the notion that, let's just say, left me feeling embarrassed and less of a man. I was anxious, uncomfortable, and frustrated, but Craig just waltzed in, and he talked to me, asking me the reason I was here, and he treated me with kindness, patience, and, most of all, respect. He spoke to me gently and explained what was going to happen; he made sure I understood. Being blind, I was trusting him to take care of me. I was angry and frustrated. He helped me with dignity and understanding, easing both my pain and pride. I felt safe, valued, and cared for in his hands. Craig is exactly what every nurse should be, and I am truly grateful for him.
