We had a lady come in the front door asking to use the restroom. I asked her if she needed help because I noticed she had a limp. She said no, she was just discharged from another hospital system nearby. She stated she was seen for a panic attack which they originally thought she was having a heart attack when they found her in her car at a sporting goods store several miles away. She stated she was going to walk back to her car. Her phone, her purse and everything she had was in her car. Craig, RN came up to the front desk, heard her story and felt compelled to help her.
He arranged and paid for an Uber ride to get her back to her car. He had no hesitation in helping this person. He did this out of the kindness of his heart to ensure her safety. The lady had a prosthetic leg and there is no sidewalk for what would have been a 2.5 mile walk. Craig displayed true compassion as he always does, not only for our patients but in this case a visitor as well.
