My mother who is 81 years old was admitted with pneumonia. She had been given pain medication for neuralgia. As a result, she was feeling very claustrophobic and just wanted out of bed. She was becoming uncooperative. She was very wobbly on her feet so she couldn't get out and stand. I suggested to Crisanta that if we could wheel her around in a wheelchair, it may ease her claustrophobia and make her more cooperative. She did not hesitate to go out of her way to get her comfortable in a wheelchair and we were able to wheel her around. It made such a difference for my mother.
Crisanta went out of her way to help a patient and try to make her comfortable, although she was under no obligation to do so and it added to her workload. She is a shining example of nursing and Kaiser is indeed fortunate to have her. She shows compassion.
