I may have no specific situation to describe because Criselda effortlessly combined many small things to create a BIG impact. Her smile, her hugs, and infectious laughter at corny jokes combined with her letting me think my desires fit perfectly into her schedule. (like a shower late one evening instead of the usual morning) She possessed empathy and compassion as she repeated and repeated the purpose and name of my medications. Criselda's topics were endless as they took me from Disney movies to septic tanks. Topics to occupy my mind and ease the worries of the unknown. I was the one hospitalized, but she knew that my worries extended to others and she freely gave comfort and care, traits found in all great nurses.
