During a particularly challenging trauma case, Crissy went above and beyond the expected standard of care. While coordinating rapid assessments and ensuring the patient remained stable for transfer to a higher-level trauma center, she took the time to address the patient's emotional and personal needs, often overlooked in high-anxiety situations.

As the patient prepared for transfer, he expressed distress over his phone being nearly dead and having no way to contact his family once he arrived at the receiving facility. Without hesitation, Crissy offered her own personal phone charger not as a loan, but as a gift, so the patient would have a way to stay connected with his loved ones during a frightening and uncertain time. This simple act of kindness had a profound impact, providing comfort and dignity to a vulnerable individual in crisis.

In moments where every second matters, Crissy demonstrated that empathy and small gestures can make an enormous difference. Her selflessness and patient-centered mindset exemplify the core values of nursing and CoxHealth's mission.
