Cristian was the night nurse for my father-in-law. He was admitted for weakness and infection. He was very confused, forgetting how to speak English and reverting only to Spanish. He was restless and agitated most of the time, couldn’t understand why he had to stay in bed, and insisted he was strong enough to walk to the bathroom. All the other nurses kept talking to him in English, which frustrated him even more. When Cristian was assigned to us, he spoke gently and calmly to my father-in-law in Spanish, informing him of what was happening and explaining to us the plans the doctors had decided to help with his infection. He also showed us the translation machine and parked it outside the room so future nurses could use it. Cristian’s efforts in helping my father-in-law were so instrumental in his care, and even now, after getting discharged home, he still talks about the kind nurse who helped him at his worst moment. Thank you, Cristian!

Thank you, Cristian, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
