Christina was on duty several of my 6 days in the hospital following my sigmoid colon resection. While the care that I received from the staff on the floor was excellent throughout my stay, Christina stood out to me as special. She was always accessible, very caring, attentive, very professional and made sure that every detail was taken care of.

I was having difficulty eating a low fiber diet and developed an ileus. She worked with me daily to help me incorporate solid foods back into my diet slowly so that my digestive tract could handle them. I think if it were not for her help, I would have been in the hospital even longer. The doctors would not discharge me until I could handle a low fiber solid food diet.

She has integrity and didn't let anything slip past her and held me accountable for documenting accurately what I ate and how I felt. Christina is very friendly and kind and treated us with empathy as if she were treating her own family.

She has great communication skills and patiently listened to my concerns and questions and took the time to discuss them with me thoroughly. She would advocate for me when necessary.

She is an exemplary nurse and I believe puts the needs of her patients above everything else to achieve the best outcomes possible. To me she sets the standard as a role model for Northwestern Medicine professional nursing and consistently demonstrates excellence in patient care. She has my full confidence in her clinical abilities and she works very tirelessly.

Thank you, Cristina, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
