During one of the most frightening times of our family’s life, Cristina stood out in a way I will never forget. From the moment that she began caring for my father, she was different. She was attentive and thorough in a way that went beyond her responsibilities. She took time to explain things clearly to our family, checked in on us emotionally as well as on him medically, and made us feel like he was her most important patient. What moved me most was her compassion. She understood that we were frightened and overwhelmed, and she treated us with a kindness and humanity that is rare. She never made us feel like a burden. She anticipated our needs before we voiced them. Because of her attentiveness and her genuine investment in my father’s well-being, our family was empowered to ask the right questions and advocate effectively for his care. That advocacy led directly to my father being transferred to a higher level of care that his condition required. I believe her involvement made a material difference in his outcome. Cristina is exactly what a nurse should be – skilled, compassionate, and deeply committed to her patients. Our family is grateful beyond words.
