Cristina was recognized by a patient. The patient feels that Cris went above and beyond during her treatment. Cris took the time to print and review labs with her, this eased her anxiety. When the patient had blood drawn, the tech missed a test. Cris noticed that and called laboratory so that the test was added instead of poking the patient again. The patient felt like a person and not a number. She truly appreciates our department and nurses. Cris made her feel like she mattered to Kaiser. This patient had only received treatment once before, and she was still very afraid of the unknown.
As the patient mentioned above, Cris is always going above and beyond. She can take the most amount of patients per her request, and still provide them with excellent care. Patients often request Cris to be their ongoing nurse. Cris is an example of a team player. She has excellent skills and a caring touch. We are lucky to have her in our department. Just to show you how great she is, a patient wrote a book about her journey and Nurse Cris was in it. This is how much of an impact she has on a patient's life.
