I’m thankful for her gentle and kind demeanor.
I don’t believe that to be a great nurse you have to have some atypical situations occur. Sometimes just the routine tasks being done with genuine kindness make a day or night (or weeks in our case) in the hospital feel so much better for your kiddo. Cristina would come in and make sure Milo got a bath every night. Anything to be done to make him clean and sleep well was done. It was actually more like a spa treatment. All-inclusive shower cap for his hair, lotion for his skin, clean blankets, and his legs positioned just how he needs them to keep him from waking up in pain. I’m thankful for her gentle and kind demeanor. If she gets anything with her name on it as a result it should read, “bath queen.”
