In that time, I have never been so amazed by anyone caring for their  patient and her other patients. She helped me feel so comfortable and cared for.
I had a TURP procedure at SSM/SLU. When I woke up in the PACU surgery recovery unit, Crystal Blankenship was standing by my side. Her soft, kind words, “You’re in recovery, your surgery went very well, and you’re doing good. I'm here to care for you.” Crystal is the most exceptional, excellent, kind, sensitive, gentile, pleasant, comforting, and compassionate nurse I've ever experienced in any medical facility. Crystal was the soothing, calming caregiver anyone would have the privilege of being cared by. I was in the recovery unit for 8 hours, waiting for a hospital room. In that time, I have never been so amazed by anyone caring for their  patient and her other patients. She helped me feel so comfortable and cared for.
Crystal's special gift that she puts to unbelievable use is being the person there for other staff during crucial circumstances by asking what she can do to help. I truly feel that Crystal is an amazing nurse and person. She talked with me  and went above and beyond regular duties to ensure I was doing well. She even remembered a part of a special story about my furry friend, whose favorite treat was a certain type of cookie. She had some of those put with my lunch in remembrance. It gave me peace and a special comfort. Crystal is the most amazing person and nurse anyone could have the honor and privilege of being cared for anywhere. I could go on for so long about Crystal because I feel so blessed that our paths in life crossed. Thanks, Crystal, you are a part of my path in life!
