The two of them butted heads on a few occasions, but Crystal was masterful and always came out on top.
Today is by husband's 14th day in this unit, 6W.  He is very fortunate to have had Crystal as his RN.  R is a horrible patient.  He is stubborn, opinionated, and short-tempered.

He is a three-tour Vietnam Wounded Veteran.

He suffered four horrible injuries at that time.  He spent 1-½ years in Walter Reed Hospital.  Several surgeries and lots of skin grafts later – he does not like being in the hospital.  R has four purple hearts.

I feel we were very fortunate to have Crystal as our nurse.  Crystal, too, is a military veteran.

The two of them butted heads on a few occasions, but Crystal was masterful and always came out on top.

If he refused to take his medications or infusions, a few words from Crystal made him come around and take them as ordered.

Because of R's history at Walter Reed, etc., he unfortunately no longer does a hospital stay well.  He does try, but unfortunately, it is short-lived (PTSD, etc)

Crystal was exactly what R needed.

Crystal really is an Extraordinary Nurse and deserves the DAISY Award just for putting up with him.

Thank you, Crystal, for everything you have done.  Thank you for giving me so much information that I can use at home to help R and will benefit BOTH OF US!

You're really Awesome!!!
